About the Project.

These portraits were taken at the 2017 Inaugural Valentine's Day Symposium on Dementia and Love in Ballarat, an initiative of Celebrate Ageing.

They demonstrate the importance of love in the lives of people living with dementia.

The Kiss, is a very personal project for me. My grandmother lived with Alzheimer’s disease. At the time of her illness my understanding of the disease limited. If I had my time again, there are so many things I would do differently, most importantly, I would see my grandmother first and not the disease.
